The University of North Florida (UNF) is a public university in Jacksonville, Florida. The university was founded in 1969 after 1,000 acres (4.0 km2) midway between downtown Jacksonville and the Jacksonville Beaches were set aside for the campus, 500 acres (2.0 km2) of which were donated by the Skinner family of Jacksonville.
